World leader in technologically advanced key equipment for the sugar industry.
BWS is currently synonymous with high quality and operating reliability in sugar factories around the world that use their bespoke solutions.
Buckau Wolf equipment is designed based on years of experience to provide high yield in sugar, dextrose, fructose and replacement products where the following equipment can be supplied.

BATCH PAN WITH CALANDRIA HONEYCOMB TYPE:

Crystallization solutions include the engineering and manufacture of batch pan, complying with the strictest international standards and supplied with the best hexagonal calandria technology, the "honeycomb" type.
For the design of the devices, BWS always considers sizing with a downtake diameter as a function of the massecuite  type  and volume. BWS can also supply the mechanical stirrer to reduce the boiling times with the guarantee of always having an optimal mixture, a homogeneous flow of crystals, as well as a much higher heat exchange than with tubular calendrias.
The engineering department of BWS offers conversions of existing, low efficiency batch pans to increase the heat exchange area and production capacity. The conversion consists of removing the old tubular type  and replacing them with honeycomb calendrias which are provided in sections to facilitate their installation, which results in a more efficient pan with low investment. It is also possible to evaluate the option of converting conical bottom  to horizontal flat calandria  (straight side) to further increase the capacity.
Process advantages with honeycomb-type calendria from BWS:
Benefits of Pan Conversions:
  • Increased homogeneity of crystals (C.V.) and reduced boiling time.
  • Reduction of 75% of residual massecuite at the discharge time thanks to its sharp edges of the upper mirror of the calandria: less loss by remelt.
  • The optimized design ensures uniform crystal growth by improving the coefficient of variation (CV) in massecuite.
  • Minimum load losses, dead zones and overheating points.
  • The best flow conditions guarantee a more homogeneous bowling and the stirrer consumes less power.            .
  • Steam savings when cleaning the pan.
  • Increase the capacity station.
  • Low maintenance cost and long service life.
  • Up to 25% increase in heat exchange area in the same installation space compared to other old calandria.
  • Supply of calandria in 6 segments ready to be mounted and installed inside the batch pan, with or without mechanical stirrer.
  • Update whatever the type of pan that possesses the current calandria: Serpentine, Lenticular or Tubular.
  • No change in inlet steam or syrup, run-off pipes, devices and existing instrumentation, structures or construction.
  • No civil engineering works.
  • Supply option with dual steam inlet
Continuous and discontinuous centrifugals:
Buckau-Wolf discontinuous and continuous centrifuges process large quantities of massecuite that are generally very viscous and have a high crystal content.
The features of Buckau Wolf centrifuges are the high performances of crystal separation, energy efficiency and minimum water consumption, as well as the most advanced operational safety standards.

With a very high separation factor up to 1250 rpm in sugar, Discontinuous centrifuges operate with minimal hydraulic resources to avoid the remanufacturing of good quality crystals and with an extremely low energy consumption of less than 1 kWh/ cycle for the production of white or refined sugar. The efficiency in the separation is maximum and the result is a discolouration of 98% and residual moisture in the case of white sugar cooked masses of 0.5%. The optimized control system reduces the time per cycle and the highest production performance with the best quality standards.
The C2500 and C3000 continuous centrifuges are used to treat high viscosity massecuite produced from sugar cane, in particular from low purity and ripening raw sugar. Continuous Buckau Wolf centrifuges offer excellent ease of operation due to their low basket height and ergonomic operator height. It also offers an option to integrate a monitoring system for the analysis and diagnosis of all rotating parts, as well as alarms and automatic remote message transfers.

Sampling valve:
Designed to work under vacuum, this valve facilitates sampling for the operator or supervisor. It is a special stainless steel ball valve with a PTFE seal for the best sealing. It can be installed in Batch and Continuous pans, as well as in Evaporators operating under negative pressure. The discharge mouth has an inclination of 20% so that the sample can be obtained more easily. It is very convenient when calibrating if the pan or evaporator is equipped with Brix measuring probes. The mounting can be circular and square flanged.

Benefits :
  • Safety.
  • Vacuum proof.
  • Easy installation.
  • Representative sampling.
  • Tightness guaranteed.
